Notice of Election - Capistrano Unified School District, School Facilities Improvement District No. 2

 

November 21, 2019

Notice is hereby given that a bond measure will be submitted to the voters of the Capistrano Unified School District, School Facilities Improvement District No. 2 (SFID No. 2), at the Presidential Primary Election to be held on March 3, 2020.  The passage of this measure by at least 55 percent of the registered voters voting on the measure would authorize the school district to issue up to $120 million in bonds at legal rates.  The bonds would be used to repair aging classrooms and facilities at schools serving San Clemente and Capistrano Beach, fix deteriorating roofs, plumbing/electrical systems, and upgrade/construct classrooms/labs, and technology to support college and career readiness in math, science, technology, arts, and skilled trades.

Notice is further given that the Registrar of Voters has determined that the last day and time for filing arguments for or against this bond measure is November 4, 2019, at the Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana. No arguments shall exceed 300 words in length.  No more than 5 signatures shall appear with any argument for or against the measure. Notice of Election - Anaheim Union High School District

 

Notice is hereby given that a bond measure will be submitted to the voters of the Anaheim Union High School District at the Presidential Primary Election to be held on March 3, 2020.  The passage of this measure by at least 55 percent of the registered voters voting on the measure would authorize the school district to issue up to $398 million in bonds at legal rates.  The bonds would be used to repair, construct and equip neighborhood schools, classrooms, career, science, computer and technology labs and educational facilities, and make school safety, fire, and drinking water improvements.

Notice is further given that the Registrar of Voters has determined that the last day and time for filing arguments for or against this bond measure is November 18, 2019 at
5:00 p.m., at the Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana. Notice of Election - County Charter

 

Notice is hereby given that a measure will be submitted to the voters of Orange County at the Presidential Primary Election to be held on March 3, 2020. If passed, the proposed measure would add Article VII, Section 702 to the Charter of Orange County to require a 2/3 vote of the Board of Supervisors to propose taxes for countywide measures placed on the ballot. 

Notice is further given that the Registrar of Voters has determined that the last day for filing arguments for or against this measure is December 9, 2019, 5:00 p.m. at the Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana. No arguments shall exceed 300 words in length. No more than five (5) signatures shall appear with any argument for or against the measure. Notice of Election - Presidential Primary

 

Notice is hereby given that the Presidential Primary Election will be held in Orange County on March 3, 2020.

Nomination Papers may be obtained at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office beginning on November 12, 2019 and must be filed in that office by December 6, 2019, 5:00 p.m. Offices for which candidates may be nominated or elected at the Presidential Primary Election include: Congressional Districts – 38th, 39th, 45th, 46th, 47th, 48th, and 49th; State Senate Districts – 29th and 37th; State Assembly Districts – 55th, 65th, 68th, 69th, 72nd, 73rd , and 74th; Orange County Board of Education Trustee Areas – 1st, 3rd, and 4th; Orange County Supervisorial Districts – 1st and 3rd; and 44 Judicial Offices of the Orange County Superior Court. In addition, candidates for the Democratic, Republican, Green, and Peace and Freedom Parties County Central Committees may obtain Nomination Papers beginning on September 27, 2019 and must file those papers by December 6, 2019 5:00 p.m.

Notice is further given that starting Saturday, February 22, 2020, select vote centers will be open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Starting Saturday, February 29, 2020, all vote centers will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. On Election Day, March 3, 2020, all vote centers will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

All ballots cast will be counted centrally at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.

Notice is further given that vote-by-mail ballot processing will begin on February 3, 2020, and will continue Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. until the election is certified on or about April 2, 2020. The last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot is February 25, 2020. The vote-by-mail process is open to the public at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.

Notice is further given that the Orange County Registrar of Voters will conduct a risklimiting audit in lieu of the manual tally of specific precincts, and will begin on March 4, 2020, at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.

Notice of Election - Saddleback Valley Unified School District

 

Notice is hereby given that a bond measure will be submitted to the voters of the Saddleback Valley Unified School District, at the Presidential Primary Election to be held on March 3, 2020. The passage of this measure by at least 55 percent of the registered voters voting on the measure would authorize the school district to issue up to $495 million in bonds at legal rates. The bonds would be used to repair local schools, classrooms, science labs, career training facilities to support college readiness/career preparation in math, science, engineering, technology, arts and skilled trades, improve safety/security, remove hazardous materials/asbestos, and repair deteriorating roofs/plumbing/electrical systems at older schools.

Notice is hereby given that a bond measure will be submitted to the voters of the Tustin Unified School District, School Facilities Improvement District No. 2020-1 (SFID No. 2020-1), at the Presidential Primary Election to be held on March 3, 2020. The passage of this measure by at least 55 percent of the registered voters voting on the measure would authorize the school district to issue up to $215 million in bonds at legal rates. The bonds would be used to repair/upgrade inadequate classrooms, labs and school facilities supporting college/career readiness in science, math, technology, engineering, arts; improve student safety, and upgrade
deteriorated roofs, plumbing, sewer, lighting, and electrical systems.

Notice is hereby given that a bond measure will be submitted to the voters of the Brea Olinda Unified School District, at the Presidential Primary Election to be held on March 3, 2020.  The passage of this measure by at least 55 percent of the registered voters voting on the measure would authorize the school district to issue up to $123 million in bonds at legal rates. The bonds would be used to repair/replace leaky roofs, deteriorating/inadequate plumbing/sewer/electrical systems, improve access to computers/technology; repair/construct/acquire/modernize/equip classrooms/labs/restrooms/school facilities; and make health/safety improvements.

Notice is hereby given that a bond measure will be submitted to the voters of the Rancho Santiago Community College District, at the Presidential Primary Election to be held on March 3, 2020.  The passage of this measure by at least 55 percent of the registered voters voting on the measure would authorize the school district to issue up to $496 million in bonds at legal rates. The bonds would be used to upgrade classrooms/labs to improve student and veteran access to affordable, high-quality education and career training in science, technology, engineering, math and skilled trades at Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College; repair deteriorating roofs/plumbing/electrical systems; and construct/acquire classrooms/facilities/equipment.

Notice of Election - Lowell Joint School District

 

Notice is hereby given that a measure will be submitted to the voters of the Lowell Joint School District, at the Presidential Primary Election to be held on March 3, 2020.  The passage of this measure by at least a simple majority of the registered voters voting on the measure would authorize the school district to transfer its current jurisdiction and administrative oversight from Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools to Orange County Superintendent of Schools, which would save the District nearly $250,000 annually in order to maintain consistency and education curriculum for families, students, and staff.
