Agency releases biennial report detailing extensive and on-going Voting Rights Act compliance programs covering 2010 - 2020

SANTA ANA, CA – October 12, 2021 – The Orange County Registrar of Voters released their 2021 biennial Voting Rights Act Compliance and Bilingual Outreach report today. 

Orange County, CA Releases 2021 Amended Election Administration Plan

The 2021 Amended Election Administration Plan describes how elections are administered in Orange County.  

SANTA ANA, CA – The 2021 Amended Election Administration Plan is posted on the Registrar of Voters’ website at ocvote.com/eap. The Plan is available in English and translated versions in Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese, Farsi (Persian), Gujarati, Hindi, Japanese, and Tagalog will be subsequently posted in accordance with federal and state law. 

Orange County, CA Elections to Conduct Post Election Audits of California Gubernatorial Recall Election Results

Registrar of Voters will be conducting post-election voting system tests and audits in addition to those required under California law.

Orange County Voting Systems to be Checked for Accuracy

Test to take place in preparation for September 14, 2021 California Gubernatorial Recall Election

SANTA ANA, CA - August 8, 2021 - Accuracy testing of Orange County's voting system will commence on August 17, 2021, and will continue until all devices have been included in the test. Due to the lengthy process of including all devices in the test, the Logic and Accuracy Test Tally may not commence until a minimum of a week after the test begins. The Logic and Accuracy test is required by law to be performed prior to each election. Logic and Accuracy tests will include proofing the programming of the ballot, each ballot style and each contest position on the ballot.

Orange County, CA Elections to Host Technical Redistricting Academy

Interested members of the public can sign up for free virtual technical redistricting training sessions by visiting ocvote.com/academy.

SANTA ANA, CA – July 2, 2021 – Due to the complex and technical nature of the local redistricting process, the Orange County Registrar of Voters will be hosting its inaugural Technical Redistricting Academy in two sessions on July 21st and 28th. Following the 2020 Census, district boundaries will be redrawn based on Census data to reflect population shifts as required by statute in advance of the 2022 election cycle. 

Orange County, CA Elections to Conduct Post Election Audit of 2nd Supervisorial District Vacancy Election Results

Auditing of ballots will be conducted to provide strong statistical evidence that the election outcome is correct.

SANTA ANA, CA - March 5, 2021 - Orange County will conduct a post-election audit beginning Thursday, March 11, 2021. 

The post-election audit consists of a hand verification of paper ballots cast in order to provide evidence that the outcome is correct.

Orange County, CA Voting Systems Confirmed to be Accurate After Testing

The voting system and all voting equipment were tested and audited in preparation for the March 9, 2021 Second Supervisorial District Vacancy Election.
